Description | | Action Painting Workshop in the Style of Willem and Elaine de Kooning presented by Christy Kosmicki, UNK
Genre: Self Portrait
Action painting is a technique that originated in New York City in the 1950’s. The application of media was the prime concern by artists who invented this Abstract Expressionist Style. In this workshop, participants will analyze the Action Paintings of Willem and Elaine de Kooning, then execute a self-portrait using slashing, scribbling brush strokes on to the surface of primed illustration board. The application process and color selection will be discussed and demonstrated, then participants will execute their self-portraits, communicating their intended mood or emotion. |
