In June of 2021, Student Achievement Partners released a review of the Wonders Curriculum. The review found that Wonders has a weakness in the area of knowledge acquisition as well as so many options of varied quality and relevance, that teachers can easily wind up teaching the weak components and leaving out what is aligned. Join ESU staff members, LaRaesha Kugel (ESU 9), Heidi Farmer & Megan Hammer (ESU 6) as they take the recommendations from this review as well as current Science of Reading research and provide planning recommendations and templates so teachers are empowered to include the aligned components of Wonders. Participants will have time to plan Wonders units with support from ESU staff as well as teachers across the ESU. |
