Description | | Trauma informed care is an approach to engaging people with histories of trauma that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma has played in their lives. Adult school personnel need education about how trauma affects students, what trauma informed care is, how to create a safe environment for all students, and ways to avoid re-traumatizing practices. Specific preschool classroom tools/strategies will be discussed to help early childhood staff engage students in the learning process and support
emotional self-regulation.
