SCIENCE: ADI 101 Workshop

This workshop is an introduction to the Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) instructional model. Participants will first learn about the limitations of typical laboratory instruction and why ADI can help all students develop the knowledge and skills they need to be proficient in science. Next, the participants will have an opportunity to learn about the ADI instructional model by participating in all eight stages of an actual ADI lab investigation from start to finish. The participants will then have time to reflect on their experiences during the lab investigation and ask clarifying questions. Finally, the participants will see how ADI is aligned with state standards for Science and English-Language Arts and learn about ways to support students during each stage of this approach.

Please Note: In order to take this course for 1 hour college credit, participants must also attend 3 Dimensional Learning (K-6) on June 7.

Persons taking this course for college credit will also be charged the ESU 9 registration fee.

Stipends are available for Title II-A consortium member districts (Core Content Area and Sped Teachers if you are NOT taking it for credit). Title II-A consortium districts include: Adams Central, Blue Hill, Doniphan-Trumbull, Giltner, Harvard, Kenesaw, Red Cloud, Silver Lake, and Sutton.
