Description | |
The purpose of IEP
facilitation is to guide a team through the meeting process while keeping the
conversation focused on the needs of the student, promoting team collaboration,
and reaching consensus. A facilitator
follows an agenda for the meeting, which is driven by outcomes, frequently
checks for understanding from all team members, and ensures all participants
effectively participate in the discussion.
The day will include
information about the purpose of facilitated IEPs, functions and roles of team
members, and setting up a meeting for success.
Participants will have the opportunity to work together in small groups
to practice IEP facilitation skills.

Fleischer and Tanya Hilligoss. |
