DescriptionPromoting positive mental health and well-being for students in our schools through training in a variety of topics.

Topics for this day include:
  • Screenagers - an award-winning documentary that dives into the challenges families face in this digital age.
  • Red Flags Signs & Symptoms - information you need to know as an educator and mental health first responder to spot struggling students
  • Anxious Generation - This book will be reviewed during the training. The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt argues that the rise of smartphones and social media since 2010 has caused a mental health crisis in young people, creating an "anxious generation" by replacing a play-based childhood with a phone-based one. Haidt links this "great rewiring" to increased rates of anxiety, depression, self-harm, and loneliness, while also detailing unique harms for girls and boys, and offers solutions for parents, schools, and governments to return to a healthier, more balanced childhood.
