During this session, teachers will learn the current state of health education and physical education. Data shared in this session is specific to Nebraska as well as how Nebraska compares to the rest of the country.

New Warm Up Ideas
Are you stuck on finding new ways to get kids excited about beginning class? These ideas can be modified for any level of student. Games focus on teamwork, fitness and fun.

Sports Officiating
Did you know Nebraska high schools can offer sports officiating as a class? This session will walk through the resources available, ways to get the class added or integrated into a current class, and why this could be a game changer in schools and communities.

Technology Resources
Technology in Physical Education and Health is sometimes hard to find or implement. During this session, teachers will learn more about two free resources, CBHPE an online resource that offers many different items FREE for teachers.  The second resource is EVERFI. EVERFI offers digital lessons for K-12 students on a wide variety of topics including bully prevention and vaping. EVERFI has partnered with Major League Baseball to create a “Summer Slugger” program that is designed to help the summer learning slump.

Adaptive PE
This session will look at the NDE Best Practices for Adaptive Physical Education. Included in this resource are ways schools can make their classes more inclusive and promote learning for all students.

Soft Toss Accuracy Games
Turn your backyard games into your students next favorite PE activity. Games could be implemented as a unit or standalone games. Games could be used at all levels.
