This will workshop will outline the basic structure of a system which includes social-emotional and behavior strategies to affect students at all tiers of support. Resources will be provided to classroom teachers to help support them as Tier 1 “First Responders.” Information will be linked to research related to various Tier 1 strategies and their importance and impact for students and school systems. Applied Behavior Analysis will be reviewed to link to the importance to classroom management. Movement to Tier 2 and 3 strategies will be discussed along with criteria for advancement and background knowledge needed to identify and select problem behaviors.
ESU 9's Supporting School Mental Health week (June 1-5) is being offered for 3 credit hours through Hastings College. Cost is $210 per credit hour. In order to receive credit, you must attend the following 5 days:
June 1 - Trauma 101
June 2 - Youth Mental Health First Aid
June 3 - MTSS for Social/Emotional & Behavior Tiers 1-3
June 4-5 - "You Can't Make Me" - Strategies for Managing Resistant Behaviors |
