Description | | ESU 9 will be providing a three-day Write Tools training. Jen Letheby, with Write Tools Inc. combines research-based classroom-proven strategies to enhance your writing curriculum. Participants will learn strategies for informative/explanatory paragraphs, responding to informational text and text dependent analysis which can be aligned to ELA standards, 6+1 traits, and a systematic writing routine.
Day Three-Text Dependent Analysis: participants will teach students to elicit an evidence-based response from an informational text or literature passage, support students in providing evidence from the text to support analysis, reflection, or ideas and opinions and extend the basic Write Tools writing skills while making use of and referencing content from the passage to support the analysis.
***Days 1 and 2 are required in order to take the TDA training on Day 3
*2 Credit Hours pending through Hastings College. Participants must attend all three days of Write Tools Training (June 4, 5, 6) to receive credit.
Persons taking this course for college credit will also be charged the ESU 9 registration and materials fee.
* Cost for Title II-A consortium member districts: $15 registration fee per day.
* Cost for Non Title II-A districts: $25 registration fee per day + $80 binder + $10 TDA module (if needed).
* Cost for Outside ESU 9 participants: $40 registration fee per day + $80 binder + $10 TDA module (if needed)
Title II-A consortium districts include: Adams Central, Blue Hill, Giltner, Harvard, Kenesaw, Red Cloud, Silver Lake, and Sutton.
