May 22 in the afternoon and all day on May 23 is at ESU 9 - 1117 East South St. Hastings, NE.

Targeted audience:
All reading teachers/administrator/supervisors/coaches
of reading K-2 and 3-6 from participating districts.
K-2nd grade-May 21 all day and morning of May 22nd.
3rd-6th - May 22nd afternoon and all day on May 23rd.
The purpose of this Instructional Routines professional learning is to help teachers implement their reading program
effectively so that students receive evidence based reading instruction. The training materials will provide explicit and
systematic routines to implement with their core reading instruction to promote
mastery of foundational reading skills for all students.
Goals for Program Specific Training:
-Clarify "fidelity" to evidence
based practices using a core reading program
-Strengthening the core delivery through direct, explicit instructional routines and procedures in
teaching the components of reading (model-prompt-practice)
-phonemic
awareness; phonics; fluency; vocabulary; comprehension
-Teaching to mastery with high
expectations
-Focus on critical content
-Eliciting correct responses
-Pacing
-Error Correction procedures
-Monitoring and adjusting instruction
and practices
-Positive feedback
-Student engagement and active participation
-Learn effective routines and procedures through the use of
the developed routine templates/cards by Ashlock Consultants, Inc. (Jennifer Ashlock)
-Models
of effective instruction
-Practice
instruction in small groups
-Feedback
on the instructional techniques
Stipends for staff on non-contract,
sub reimbursements & mileage provided
to participants that are part of the ESU 9 D-TIPS grant
