Small group or one-to-one intervention support in early reading skills

Sound Partners is a phonics-based program that provides individual explicit instruction in early reading skills to children who need it most.  The program was specifically developed to reduce the number of children with reading disabilities by supplementing reading instruction for first graders at highest risk of reading failure, second and third graders below grade level in reading, and students just learning the English language.  Sound Partners is tailored for paraprofessional tutors to provide effective instruction in the early reading skills most predictive of reading achievement.  The Sound Partners program includes a set of 100+ lessons that are carefully sequenced and scripted for tutor use.  Each lesson consists of 5-10 short activities, some taking only a few minutes to complete.  The lessons are used with specific storybooks that are selected to match the skills being taught. 

Lesson components include:
Letter sound correspondence; Segmenting; Blending; Word reading; Letter pair practice; Spelling; Sight word recognition; Magic –e- words; Word endings; and, Storybook reading.

Substitute Reimbursement is available.
