Description | | We will be tapping into your detective skills as we take a closer look at close reading!
Much like detective work….close reading is an instructional routine where students do an analysis of complex text in order to understand what it says, how it says it and what it means. Participants of this workshop will leave being able to describe practices of a close read, experience a close read and develop a close read using their own materials. Instructional routines such as close reading will assist teachers in providing their students opportunities for text dependent analysis.
