Please Note: In order to take this course for 1 hour college credit, participants must also attend Reading in the Wild on May 24 OR Dead Presidents and Whales: Engaging Readers with Nonfiction Text/Revving up Read Alouds on May 25.
Please Note: In order to take this course for 2 hours college credit, participants must attend all 3 days of Donalyn Miller's workshops.
Providing students opportunities to respond authentically to what they read increases reading motivation and comprehension, but what does authentic reading response look like in today’s world? In this engaging session, Donalyn Miller examines the research basis for reading response, authentic models and student examples, and invites participants to reflect and respond to their own reading experiences.
Persons taking this course for college credit will also be charged the ESU 9 registration fee.
