DescriptionThis training is based upon the understanding that young children learn best through play that is relevant and meaningful.  Special focus will be given to the following areas: Describe the benefits of play in the development of young children; Identify how to select developmentally appropriate toys; Discuss the negative impacts on play in our society; Apply practical strategies for functional play-based assessment and treatment; and Examine how to achieve parent involvement and follow-through in the therapy process.  Presenter:  Cari Ebert, MS, CCC-SLP.  Lunch included in registration fee:  $50 non ESU9 schools, $30 ESU9 schools, $20 ESU9 staff.  Workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00.
