Welcome to the next chapter in our three-dimensional STORY...

* When the three dimensions are integrated students gain contextual understanding of how science knowledge is acquired and applied, and how science is connected through a series of concepts, rather than memorizing facts devoid of context.
* Natural phenomena serve as the context for the work of both scientists and engineers. In this context, science, engineering, and technology are integrated in instruction; empowering students to apply learning to their everyday lives.
* The Science and Engineering Practices connect science with Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Social Studies through meaningful and substantive overlapping of skills and knowledge. This affords all students equitable access to learning and ensures all students are prepared for college, career, and citizenship.
NCCRS-Science Instructional Shifts

We believe...
* As a community of Nebraska educators, it is our responsibility to invite all students to explore the rich nature of science within inclusive and culturally responsive classrooms, and prepare scientifically literate citizens ready to understand, engage, and transform the world.
* All Nebraska students use scientific literacy to engage in civic-minded decision-making as they demonstrate readiness for college, career, and lifelong learning.
* Nebraska high school graduates will enter their profession or higher education have benefited from access to meaningful and dedicated opportunities to learn and practice the three dimensions of science education.
